STIGMA

You are not alone!

Stigma against mental illnesses is seen in many societies and cultures. Although these stigmatizations prevent individuals with mental disorders from receiving the necessary help, they can create many different negative effects on the individual. This may lead to the progression of the aforementioned diseases and even lead individuals to a tendency to self-harm.

to the information we have obtained during our research, especially during and after the pandemic period, the rates of mental illness in the society have shown a great increase. One of the age groups in which the aforementioned disorders increase is adolescents.

In this study, stigmatization of adult individuals was measured through the relevant questionnaire. These stigmatizations were evaluated according to certain age ranges, gender, education level and psychiatric diagnosis. In addition, a platform has been created where individuals who are exposed to stigma or who are afraid of being stigmatized can freely and anonymously share their views and events that they hesitate to share with the society.
